Sqonk

James Norman, aka Sqonk, is a Harrisburg, Pennsylvania–based producer whose work is driven by a deep curiosity for sound design and a rapidly-evolving creative vision. A relatively recent entrant into music production, Sqonk approaches the craft with focus, intention, and a relentless desire to learn, refine, and push his sound forward. Blending experimental bass textures with groove-focused rhythms and detailed low-end design, Sqonk’s productions reflect an artist in active development, one who values process as much as outcome. His music carries a sense of exploration, shaped by late-night studio sessions and a commitment to building something distinct rather than chasing trends.

2025 marked a significant step forward for the project, highlighted by standout performances at Seven Stars and Big Dub Festival, alongside club appearances across the country, from Brooklyn to Spokane. With momentum building and his sound continuing to sharpen, Sqonk enters 2026 focused on growth, consistency, and translating his evolving studio work into immersive live experiences.
