Full disclosure: we LOVE Gunnar Nash. So much so that we added him to our roster back in 2024 and have been honored to watch his growth every step of the way. From standout sets at festivals and clubs to releases on a variety of labels, as well as support from some huge names in the scene, Gunnar has consistently shown his dedication to the craft and willingness to push his sound forward. As the project grows, its maturity is on full display with Waiting, his latest EP out now on Dome of Doom, a label similarly known for championing forward-thinking bass music.
The EP is packed with weighty low-end, immersive atmospheres, and crunchy bass lines that feel built for proper systems. Entirely produced in FL Studio using Serum and Serum 2, Waiting highlights Nash’s refined sound design and hands-on approach. He mixed and mastered the EP himself, relying on years of EQ techniques, audio analysis tools, and instinct-driven decisions to shape the final product. Influenced by artists like Runnit, VCTRE, Black Carl!, OkayJake, Jon Casey and more, the EP sits firmly on the cutting edge of modern bass music.
“Writing this EP was all about doing something different. I was getting burnt out trying to make huge drops every time I opened the DAW. This change of direction really helped me get past a big “writers block” moment. Along with waiting to break out of the creative funk I was in, my wife and I were also approaching the due date of our first child when I was working on these tracks. Hence the EP title, Waiting.”
Created during a major life transition which included becoming a father and building out a new studio space, Waiting reflects both personal and artistic evolution, resulting in some of his finest work yet. Whether it’s his uptempo work giving “mainstage energy” or this chilled-out version of his sound, we support it all and can’t wait to see where the project goes next.
